Share Market during week ended on Aug 29,2008.

BSE Sensex was at 14,401.49 on Aug, 22, 2008.

BSE Sensex ended up 163.04 points or 1.13 % at 14,564.53 swinging between 14586.16 on Aug, 29, 2008 and 14,002.43 on Aug, 28, 2008.

On Monday the market opened with positive note, but on Wednesday market it slipped again on global concerns and on Friday market gained 516 points due to fall in inflation figures declared on Thursday Aug 28, 2008.

Sectoral indices which gained most during the week were Bankex which gained 5.31%, IT which gained 3.37%, Realty gained 1.02 %.

Top gainer stocks were Satyam gained 8.66 % HDFC Bank gained 6.91 %, Mah & Mah gained 5.27 %, SBI gained 4.26 %.

Inflation for the week ended on Aug 16, 2008 fell to 12.40 % from 12.63 % in the previous week, due to drop in oil price in that week.

BSE Midcap ended up 0.26 at 5,742.29, whereas BSE Smallcap ended down 0.49 % at 6,891.64.

Krishan Kumar Birla died in Kolkata early on Saturday morning, he was 90.
