Mangoes:

This year due to reduction in exports Alphansos be cheaper in domestic markets. The reduction in exports will be due to recession all over the world. The result will be that we will have mango of good quality that too at cheaper rates.

Exporters said during last 2-3 years, the demand from foreign countries has increased many folds. But this year up-to-date there is no demand from Washington. This year wholesale price of Alphansos per dozen is around 700 as compared to 800 last year, which turns to be 15-20%.

Ajit Desai, giant exporter of Mangoes, informed that there are full chances that demands from USA, Europe and Arab countries will be in pressure and so far none of merchants from USA has booked any order. Last year we received orders from beginning of Feb.

America gamma radiation center situated at Lasgaon of Maharashtra is not yet operative this year. Before exporting to USA, it is compulsory to get them checked scientifically at this center.

This year Americans may taste mangoes of Mexico which taste like our Alphansos, but are available at 12 US $ for 3.5 Kgs. Compared to ours at US $ 25-30 for the same quantity.
