BSE Sensex ended down 940.14 points or 6.70 % at 13102.18 and Nifty tumbled 260 or 6.12 % to 3,985.25 during the week. Delay in US bailout plan and Lehman Brothers going bankrupt pulled the markets down. 119-year-old Washington Mutual Inc is the latest victim of present sub-prime crisis.
Inflation for the week ended on Sep. 13, remained unchanged at 12.14.
Major gainers over the week in the sectoral indices were FMCG which gained 0.64%, HC rose (4.03%), Oil & Gas climbed (4.09%), PSU went up (4.65%), and Metal rose (5.30%).
Realty dropped 12.33%, IT fell 11.78%, TECk lost 8.7%, Capital Goods declined 8.05%,and BSE Consumer Durables went down 8.03% among major losers in the sectoral indices over the week.

On the other hand Ranbaxy Laboratories (23.67%), Wipro (17.54%), DLF (13.01%), Satyam Computer Services (13.01%), Hindalco Industries (12.18%), and Tata Motors (11.72%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex over the week.
